It is important you have voices of reason prevail. FAC implores you to show your support by being present at
the Sexually Violent Predator Workshop on September 4th 2013 at the
Jacksonville City Hall, hosted by Florida State Representative Janet
Adkins.
Please spread the word for the event for others to
participate. We need a show of numbers to convey that not all offenders
required to register are predators. Yes there are those among us who
are a high risk to reoffend and pose concern to our communities; however
they are the few, not the many. Now is the time to show Legislators
that many lives are at stake and by the legislation that may be proposed
if passed will not make our communities safer unless they rely on the
empirical evidence and consider the voices of the experts. Destroying
families by imposing overly broad policies is not in Florida's best
interest.
FAC cannot do this alone and you have to step up and fight for fair and evidence based policies.
